October 27

 Today we shared what we are dressing up as for halloween for our question of the day. We reviewed our lively letters and then played a game to see if we could identify all the sounds in a word (You can try this at home too! i.e with the word hog, ask you child what sounds they hear-- /h/ /o/ /g/) then we drew a halloween theme picture! Today was 'drop everything and read' so we stopped to read 3 times! In music we played a couple of songs and followed rhythm and beat. In gym we played a trick or treat game! In math we did our number of the day which was 9, practiced counting using tally marks and then played a tally mark game. We finished the day with out book competition to see which is our favourite book! 


Reminder no school tomorrow for PD day.

September 13, 2022

The question of the day was "do you prefer cats or dogs" and we talked about what prefer means. In English we worked on the sound 'b' like ball and brainstormed words that start with the sound 'b' and words that have the sound 'b' in the middle or at the end. We worked on phonemic awareness and listening for sounds in a word. We had our first whole school fire drill and identified some "glows and grows" (things we did well and things we are going to keep practicing). We had a lesson to learn about visually impaired students to help us learn about a classmate in our partner class. In gym we played with scoops and hoola hoops. For health we continued learning how to be a good friend and worked on what we could say if we want to share or take turns. In math we practiced counting. We ended the day with centers, closing circle and an intro into the learning commons! Starting next week, our class will have library every Wednesday!  We are starting
