Today we

  • Mrs. Read shared some news with us! She is having a baby! Her baby is coming in June so she will be with us for most of the school year 
  • we started to talked about the 4 different zones of regulation (red, blue, green, yellow) and what emotions are in each zone 
  • in gym we played a game called "Santa's Workshop" with the 'sleighs' that we wheeled to go get toys! We used our legs and hands to help us move the 'sleigh' 
  • our guided drawing was a snow-globe 
  • we learned a new lively letter which was 'ng' like the word song, king, lung
  • our number of the day was 17 
  • in math we practiced collecting data but making a chart to help us count and gather data!
  • we did some reading practice and we wrote a sentence about our weekends on the white boards 


Tomorrow is festive sock day!

Welcome! 2022-2023 School Year

Welcome! We are so excited to be starting the 2022-2023 year! This year, our whole school will continue to use Blogger to make our daily agenda posts.  To make it easier for you, you can add the blog right on to the home screen of your phone or iPad by following the directions on the “Adding Blogger to Home Screen” document Mrs. Brinson sent out on August 26 in her first Northern Lights News email. September 13, 2022

The question of the day was "do you prefer cats or dogs" and we talked about what prefer means. In English we worked on the sound 'b' like ball and brainstormed words that start with the sound 'b' and words that have the sound 'b' in the middle or at the end. We worked on phonemic awareness and listening for sounds in a word. We had our first whole school fire drill and identified some "glows and grows" (things we did well and things we are going to keep practicing). We had a lesson to learn about visually impaired students to help us learn about a classmate in our partner class. In gym we played with scoops and hoola hoops. For health we continued learning how to be a good friend and worked on what we could say if we want to share or take turns. In math we practiced counting. We ended the day with centers, closing circle and an intro into the learning commons! Starting next week, our class will have library every Wednesday!  We are starting
