 Today we:

  • played "The Grinch" in gym where we had to find the hidden gifts 
  • learned a new lively letter which was 'ch' like chain, cherry and cheese or end in ch like lunch, munch, bunch 
  • sorted emotions into the different zones of regulation 
  • wrote "I can" sentences 
  • learned 'my' for our new heart word 
  • talked about if we would rather have outdoor recess or indoor recess for question of the day 
  • played with the boom wakers to play Jingle Bells 
  • drew Elsa for our guided drawing 
  • gather data about what are our classmate's favourite colour 
  • we had library 

Tomorrow is festive hat and headwear day! We are also going to do a painting experiment so please make sure to wear clothes that are safe in case we accidentally get paint on them.

Welcome! 2022-2023 School Year

Welcome! We are so excited to be starting the 2022-2023 year! This year, our whole school will continue to use Blogger to make our daily agenda posts.  To make it easier for you, you can add the blog right on to the home screen of your phone or iPad by following the directions on the “Adding Blogger to Home Screen” document Mrs. Brinson sent out on August 26 in her first Northern Lights News email. September 13, 2022

The question of the day was "do you prefer cats or dogs" and we talked about what prefer means. In English we worked on the sound 'b' like ball and brainstormed words that start with the sound 'b' and words that have the sound 'b' in the middle or at the end. We worked on phonemic awareness and listening for sounds in a word. We had our first whole school fire drill and identified some "glows and grows" (things we did well and things we are going to keep practicing). We had a lesson to learn about visually impaired students to help us learn about a classmate in our partner class. In gym we played with scoops and hoola hoops. For health we continued learning how to be a good friend and worked on what we could say if we want to share or take turns. In math we practiced counting. We ended the day with centers, closing circle and an intro into the learning commons! Starting next week, our class will have library every Wednesday!  We are starting
